David Gerstein is a world renowned Israeli artist who creates beautiful and colorful three dimensional sculptures, in a unique technique inspired by Graffiti and Pop art.
Born in Jerusalem, Gerstein attributes the original line of his artwork to his passion for cutouts as a child, and his father the leather cutter. Both he says have shaped his unique drawing style.
David Gerstein's art is based on hand painted cut out steel sculptures and paintings, where he expresses modern life and culture through bright colors and vibrant images.
David Gerstein's sculptures are exhibited worldwide, large scale urban sculptures in cities, and smaller three dimensional sculptures in galleries, modern home decor items and even Gerstein designer pins and jewelry.
Gerstein's art combines modernism with tradition in his incredible Judaica Art items, where he creates among the rest lively Good Luck Hamsa Hands, Peace Hamsa and Hebrew Mazal Tov Hamsa sculptures.
Another well known Gerstein artwork creation is his tribute to the legendary bicycle rider Lance Armstrong in an outstanding sculpture "Armstrong Bike Rider" based on his image and love for life.
David Gerstein first studied art at the Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem, and later also at the Ecole Superiieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, Arts Students League in New York and St. Martin’s School of Art in London.
